  Microbe-host interactions and bacterial evolution: My research project in the group of Dr. Christoph Keel aimed at understanding the molecular basis, evolution and regulation of insecticidal activity in plant-beneficial Pseudomonas bacteria. One subproject was the study of the genetic basis and evolution of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) biosynthesis in model bacteria and elucidating the biological role and regulation of this macromolecule during insect infection. » Responsible for a molecular research project on plant-associated bacteria: independently designed, managed and carried out experiments, wrote publications and reports, presented research results at numerous national and international conferences, set up collaborations with other research groups and companies. » Formation of two master students in the laboratory and organizing practical courses for bachelor students in microbiology (during three years in French, approx. 50 students per year, receiving consistently high evaluations). » Programmed and maintained a web-based database application for research purposes. » Continuous improvement of my French and English skills thanks to the trilingual work environment.
