Worked as the chief controls engineer for an oxygen generation unit. This unit required high-amperage operation and had the unique problem of being inherently unstable - as the temperature of the unit increased, the resistance would go DOWN allowing for more current to pass through and thereby further increase the temperature.Because the unit was designed to operate in remote environments (the US military wanted the unit for pilots stationed in Afghanistan and NASA was interested in installing the unit on the International Space Station), extremely high reliability was a necessary requirement. I developed the electronics, software, and controls structure to make a very robust product that could be trusted for long periods of time without human intervention.
