I am an attorney handling real estate, oil and gas, and contracts cases with a focus on serving Indian tribes and individuals in Oklahoma. I handle land deals for various tribes, including negotiating with the BIA and state governments, preparing Fee To Trust applications to have land taken into trust by the BIA, and various other aspects of the real estate field. In addition, I have drafted legislative code for various tribes, and tribal resolutions to implement those code provisions. I was providing contracting services to a select group of companies. I examined title to minerals and surface interests my clients were interested in leasing or purchasing. I was responsible for interfacing with Bureau of Indian Affairs employees to lease mineral interests held in trust by the BIA. I have also constructed respondent and pooling lists for Jackfork Land Services, to be used before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. I conducted various aspects of title research for Chesapeake's operations. I ran title and generate ownership reports for use in leasing lands for oil and gas drilling. I also conducted unit reviews to determine curative needs for drilling units. This involved reading and analyzing title opinions to determine what documents were needed. I then drafted those documents, and contacted landowners and lessors as needed to clear units for drilling or payout. I also created abstracts of title for parcels of land, for use both in running title and in getting title opinions from title attorneys.
