Project Highlight: New Ramp, Painting and Miscellaneous Repairs at the Approach and Suspended Spans at the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, MTA-TBTA. New Bus/HOV Ramp to connect the Gowanus Expressway in Brooklyn to the Upper Level of the Verrazano‐ Narrows Bridge. This project involves construction of a new ramp which will weave its way through the spaghetti pile formed by the existing and complex ramp network forming the Brooklyn Approaches to the bridge. Major work includes removal of existing structures; modification to others, including reducing depths to provide increased vertical clearance; construction of new piers founded on micro‐piles within the congested site under the bridge; erosion, sediment, noise and dust control; and appurtenant work which will include drainage, sign structures, fire protection and lighting installation. Project Cost $85M Shore Parkway Bridge over Fresh Creek Basin, Brooklyn, NYCDOT. Roadway reconstruction and bridge replacement project. Major work includes multi-staged construction to construct new pile-supported concrete abutments, concrete piers, composite steel stringer, concrete deck, elastomeric bearings and reconstruction of 900 feet of the Belt Parkway requiring soil surcharging to control settlements of proposed new fills.
