I worked for 3 years as a radiation therapist, the time in which approximately 1,150+ patients came into my care. I worked alongside a brilliant team of radiation therapists, oncology nurses, radiation oncologists and registrars, medical physicists and engineers - all of which I learnt an immense amount from. I treasure all the people I met and all my memories and experiences from this job incredibly - it is one very close to my heart! ➤ Responsible for the creation and delivery of technical and precise radiation treatments - including the planning and treatment of 3DC, IMRT/VMAT, electron, SABR and SXRT treatments across a wide variety of body sites ➤ Maintained schedules for fully booked treatment and CT units whilst providing constant monitoring, management and emotional support of cancer patients & their families ➤ Liaised and collaborated with radiation oncology teams as well as allied health and external services to maintain high standard of patient care ➤ Assisted in Bladder Scan Protocol research project: retrospective data analysis to direct practices and inform efficacy of bladder scanners ➤ Extensive work with Varian Eclipse TPS and Aria ROIS platforms, as well as proficiency in Clinac IX and TruBeam Linear Accelerators ➤ Participated in review and editing of departmental protcols, as well as authoring step-by-step protocol for proper bolus manufacture procedures ➤ Mentored and supervised students (medicine, nursing & radiation therapy) in training of varying year levels and abilities to facilitate learning and assess competency Show less
