This is my end of studies project. During this internship, I joined the common laboratory between SAFRAN and AMPERE called IPES (Intégration de Puissance en Environnement Sévère) in order to work on the elaboration of line protection system in more electric aircraft. My mission was to find a solution based on wide-gap component to deal with the opening and the protection of the embedded DC grids. This is my end of studies project. During this internship, I have sized an energy conversion chain for an hydroelectric plant of 10 MW. The aim was to design a solution without mechanical gear box to simplify upkeeping and to allow a variable speed way of running. So, I sized a permanent magnet alternator and an AC/AC converter.
