  Vocational Rehabilitation's (VR) mission is "to help people with disabilities find and maintain employment and enhance their independence." Being a counselor with VR means that I'm privileged to assist my clients in their quest for employment. We work together to determine a successful job goal, gain any training and skills needed for the goal, and navigate the job market. I also coordinate other services that are needed to promote successful employment, such as rehab technologies or restoration services. On the flip side, I also am a resource for employers who are in need of qualified employees. I provide information and refer candidates to employers when a position becomes available. I provide a single point of contact for all parties and facilitate any additional services that may be needed to ensure success for both my client and the employer. Show less
