This was achieved by developing a new motor model that accurately captured the combustion behavior of the motor, allowing for precise optimization of motor parameters. Created a new test facility for a solid rocket engine, resulting in a 10% increase in testing efficiency and a reduction in test turnaround time by 15%. This was achieved by developing a new data acquisition system that allowed for real-time monitoring and analysis of engine performance, reducing the time required for data processing and analysis. As a result, the testing team was able to identify and address issues in the engine design more quickly, leading to faster iterations and ultimately, a higher-quality engine design. Collaborated with a colleague to develop a Python script to automate data processing for the rocket engine test stand, reducing the time required for data analysis by 50%. This increased efficiency allowed for faster testing iterations and reduced the time required to identify areas for improvement in the propulsion system design. Conducted post-test analysis of rocket engine data, identifying areas for improvement in the propulsion system design, such as propellant mixture and grain geometry resulting in a 15% increase in motor thrust. Assisted in the fabrication and assembly of solid rocket motor components, including (but not limited to) propellant grain, motor casing, and nozzle, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations. This contributed to zero safety incidents during the manufacturing and testing process, and ultimately to a successful test launch of the propulsion system. Show less
