We have worked with Jonathan Said for approximately 18 months from October 2012 through to March 2014 in his role at Home and Giftware. Jonathan’s support to eTailme has been immense and cannot be measured in dollar figures alone. His dedication, industry knowledge and never say no attitude has helped us both grow together. This unwavering attitude has been reflected in the results he has achieved across the online industry. No task was too small or too difficult and was always promptly responded to and followed up on. From a supplier perspective, Jonathan has been at the forefront of online retail given his technical knowledge and application. Jonathan was responsible for the daily management of product data and photography across 3000 + SKUs. No small task! This applied knowledge has evolved tremendously and in turn the growth of our business as well. He was also responsible for optimising listings across multiple online sales channels for us to ensure maximised revenues. Over and above all of this, Jonathan was constantly providing innovative ways to sell through product across multiple platforms. Whilst working in an online world, Jonathan never ignored some of the practises of traditional retail to ensure products were merchandised correctly to tell a story. We are sincerely grateful for everything Jonathan has done for our business and wish him all the best but hoping we are working together again very soon.

I have worked closely with Jonathan from March 2013 until Today. My company, Zanui, has successfully dealt with Jonathan and Home & Giftware since our beginnings. I started working with him while founding our commercial division: Zanui Business Solutions. Jonathan has been a great asset to building this valuable part of our company. Apart from his expertise in E-Commerce and Wholesale, he provided us with an excellent product offering and consultation. I have to point out Jonathan’s strong commitment and understanding for the needs of our business clients. He supported me with express deliveries to meet deadlines, reserving stock and after all in the process of price negotiation. His profound understanding of the online world, his reliability and positive attitude made it very easy and efficient to deal with Jonathan. Due to our trustful collaboration and his wide knowledge and experience in the industry, I strongly recommend working with him. I sincerely thank Jonathan for all the help over the last year and hope to work with him again.

In early 2014 I resigned as head of the Online Department at Home & Giftware to start a specialist consulting service on educating wholesalers and retailers become better suppliers to E-commerce retailers. If you are serious about supplying Australia's largest online retailers, then let me help you fast track your business and product potential online by implementing the vast experience, skills and contacts I developed in this area over the past 5 years. My consulting brief is simple:"I would like to work with wholesalers and retailers in Australia & New Zealand by sharing my knowledge and experience on how to become the best supplier to the various E-commerce webstores in Australia". From 2010-2014 our company ranked as a top 5 supplier to every major Online Retailer, both as a DROP-SHIP SUPPLIER , as well as in the FLASH SALE/CLOSED CAMPAIGN model. My experience & expertise covers:• Building strong data & image content.• Title and description optimization.• Introduce a brand new solution to sharing content online with your e-tailers, using PRODUCTIFY.• Understanding the various E-commerce channels, & deciding which one suits your business. • Systems to implement in your business when working with Online Retailers.• How to manage E-commerce business within your office.• How to manage E-commerce business within your warehouse.• How to manage E -commerce customer service within your business.• Introduction and networking to E-commerce retailer.

In 2010 I rejoined Home & Giftware to head-up a new E-commerce division. The brief was for Home & Giftware to become the best wholesale supplier to the various E-commerce channels within Australia. From 2010-2014 Home & Giftware was ranked as a top 5 supplier to every major Online Retailer, both as a drop ship supplier, and with in the flash sale/closed campaign model.Back in 2009, Home & Giftware identified the opportunity to become a major supplier to online retailers. In 2010 I rejoined the company I had founded, to head up this division. The first step I took before we could enter the online space, was build a comprehensive content & image library. This was no easy task being a wholesaler carrying over 2500 SKU's. It took us 5 months to build the content library, which at the time seemed an extraordinary long time. However, the upside was once we had this incredibly rich data content, we were able to enter the online E-commerce space faster than anyone else.We had data content that we could supply the online retailer, and just as importantly we had High Res images for every single SKU we carried. We offered lifestyle images, hero shot, close up, and packaging images when gift boxed. This was a unique product offer we could deliver our Online clients at the time.We invested in an inventory/warehouse management system (WMS) to manage online stock. We also introduced systems into every department within the business to ensure we serviced our online clients better than anybody else.We ran our online business knowing that every order we received from our online retailers we held their reputation in our hands. We never took this responsibility lightly. This was our motivation each and every day, to service them to the best of our ability, knowing we had their interest at heart.I resigned from Home & Giftware in early 2014 to consult and educate other wholesalers and retailers develop and improve the skills required to operate in this space.

In early 2009 I could see the enormous opportunities in Australia for wholesalers to supply both branded and non-branded product to Online Retail Webstores. It cost the Online Webstore nothing to host 100's if not 1000's of SKU's on their website via the drop ship model (in this model E-retailer would not need to carry any stock). The flip-side was the wholesale supplier now had a platform to have their entire range promoted direct to the consumer, and not be limited to shelf space, as had been the case in the bricks and mortar model.Tomkin had the foresight to embrace this dropship model before most wholesalers. They could see the upside of selling online to whom they wished to sell to, while still maintaing brand integrity and controlling the final sale price to the consumer.I joined Tomkin as a consultant in March 2009, covering 3 crucial stages.1. Build a comprehensive Product and Image library of selected branded product. This was our first understanding of what a product data CSV form was.2. Consult/liase between the Online Retailers and Tomkin I.T. department - re: server/i.p. communication for stock control, and product updates.3. Consult/liase between the Online Retailers and Tomkin's warehouse, on order processing, and drop ship fulfilment.Within 6 months, we were running close to a 1000 SKU's online. This completed my consulting role at Tomkin, and my first understanding to the enormous online opportunities that existed. This role at Tomkin led to discussions about a full-time role with Home & Giftware to head up their new Online Department.

In 1994 I started a wholesale business, called Jonra Trading.Starting out as an importer/wholesaler of costume jewelry & woman’s accessories.Over time, the business moved more in the direction of the Gift & Homeware category/industry.My responsibilities covered everything one does when running a small start up.Purchasing, Sales, Inventory, stock management, administration duties and accounts. We changed the business name to Home & Giftware, and the company grew into a successful national wholesaler in both Australia, and New Zealand. We carried over 1000 line items in the table top, kitchen ware, decorator and outdoor furniture.I sold Home & Giftware in 2004 to my business partner, to pursue other interests.Home & Giftware continued to grow over the next decade into one of the largest wholesale companies in the homewares category.
