We are studying the electrochemical properties of the lung cancer cells and engineered a system to help isolate the cancerous cells from normal cells, based on their electrochemical properties. We are using Zeta potential measurements and Dielectrophoresis to understand the kinetics and the electrochemical properties.

I worked on viral immunology, understanding the role of heterologous immunity during infection with viruses such as influenza A and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). While learning some of the basic skills in immunological research such as isolating lymphocytes and staining these cells with antibody markers and analyzing them in flow cytometry to assess the level of T cell immunity, the donors have to these viruses. I also etched out a small project assessing whether there was any evidence… Show more I worked on viral immunology, understanding the role of heterologous immunity during infection with viruses such as influenza A and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Investigated the Role of Different cell Polarity genes in a developing Zebra fish epidermis. Worked on comprehending the genetic interactions among the polarity proteins and understanding the cellular trafficking using Zebrafish as a model organism. Proved that during Pre-Germination conditions, the tolerant cultivar of Rice is mainly affected by the Na+ dominant salt solution and in case of the sensitive cultivar of Rice it was seen to be affected by the Cl- dominant salt solution. Detected that under stress the chlorophyll content, SOD, POX and H2O2, Proline and the Lipid Peroxidation Activity increased to an alarming rate. Studied the role of Pentoxifylline, a Methylxanthine derivative on A375M, highly Metastatic Human Melanoma Cell Line”. Proved Pentoxifylline (PTX) to be effective Anti-Metastatic agent and it inhibits the tumour growth, progression, metastasis and angiogenesis. Observed that PTX inhibits the growth of A375M cells without damaging the cellular and nuclear machinery of the surrounding cells. It also induces apoptosis of the cancerous cells. Proved that it has an effective action against the MMP’s… Show more Studied the role of Pentoxifylline, a Methylxanthine derivative on A375M, highly Metastatic Human Melanoma Cell Line”. Isolated 30 different isolates from petrol and diesel treated soil samples out of which 11 isolated organisms. Confirmed degradation of Diesel and Petrol. Studied their colony characteristics and screened them to confirm the results. Organisms were isolated and cultured at different hydrocarbon concentrations and checked for their degradation efficiency.
