    • Training of 2nd year Civil Engineering Student
      • Jun 2008 - Jul 2008

During the middle vacation of 2008, a month was spent at this Consulting Engineering firm in Windhoek Namibia. Experience was gained in a wide variety of design projects, including roads, industrial and residential buildings, a pedestrian bridge and various alterations. One of the weeks was spent on site with the building contractor for an office block; I was given a small team and was responsible for the construction of several steal roof trusses. This was a valuable lesson in the nature and management of a building site.

    • Assistent Manager
      • Aug 2007 - Dec 2007

The position was achieved after only 3 weeks of employment at the restaurant, and I was still only 18 years old at the time. In a up market restaurant in the South West of London, the position required the usual responsibilities of opening and closing the restaurant, cashing up and general service. I was also specifically in charge of stock takes, deliveries, staff training and general upkeep of high standards. During my time, I helped develop an improved bar menu, a more efficient stock taking process, a small marketing campaign and general elevation of service standard.
