New York, New York, United States Hired as the first employee in people ops, I built the function and my incredibly talented team from scratch. The beauty of the people ops role is that it's ever changing. Since no day ever looks the same, here are just a few of the things we've accomplished on the people team in my time here: - Rolled out key behaviors (our version of values) that are integrated throughout the employee lifecycle. You’ll see our core values in the hiring process, performance management, recognition and our bi-weekly all hands. - Defined the company culture, creating a culture doc that we live by and use as a guiding light to gut check decisions that impact the broader company. - Built a performance management process “talent review” that captured what is important in reviews without running a long, painful review process. The focus was on training managers and working in partnership with them to give timely and effective feedback to their teams. - Implemented HRIS to boost our compliance and productivity including an employer of record for our international team and Lattice for better 1:1s, performance management, employee engagement and praise. - Developed org wide leveling and compensation/equity bands to ensure pay equity and consistency in pay practices. - Built a monthly onboarding program for all new hires focused on effectively integrating them into the company and the industry. We measured success with a reduced mishire rate by 50% (!!) and our new hire’s ability to “talk the talk” in passing our onboarding crypto quiz. - Developed a training program for our people managers with monthly content relevant to the team and organization’s needs. - Revamped the recruiting process from start to finish with a focus on transparency for candidates and hiring in alignment with our key behaviors. I managed a five person team - (1) Director of Employee Experience, (2) Director, Talent, (3) Senior Recruiter, (4) People Ops Associate, (5) Executive Assistant to the CEO Show less
