I am pleased to give Tracy McPeck my strong and positive endorsement. Tracy compiled an impressive academic record in our graduate program and from my observation of Tracy’s participation in class discussions, she is impressive as an intelligent, hard-working individual who was liked and respected by her fellow classmates. Tracy will, I know, make a substantive impact on our field and become a professional remembered.

In May 2018, this position along with the Outreach Specialist was put into its own office, the Office of Programming and Outreach. I oversaw all system-wide programming and outreach for children, young adults, and adults and assisted with library communications and social media, including organizing content for our quarterly magazine, determining publicity priorities, and writing monthly newsletter content. I coordinated system-wide programs for eleven branches, holding meetings with library staff and working with performers and local organizations to provide quality library events. I directly supervised the Outreach Specialist (Communications Specialist I). I trained the Specialist to evaluate opportunities to participate in community events and outreach, work with county agencies, and coordinate the staffing and provision of materials for events. I chaired a committee that developed a new customer service training model for PWPLS and conducted training sessions for library staff and for branch-based customer service trainers. I also headed committees to revamp the library’s children’s and teens’ webpages, provide services to seniors, and Goodreads as a readers’ advisory service. I also oversaw the Summer Reading committee, which formed a proprietary (not part of a collective) summer reading program in 2016 and completed three successful summers under my direction. Projects I was leading at the time I left PWPLS include leading five workgroups tasked with carrying out new system-wide initiatives, launching a new 100 Books before College program, and planning our community's first big read project with the schools.
