Chandler excelled as one of my best students at VCU, and certainly was very motivated to learn. She rose to the intellectual challenges of my course and was impressive in class discussions. Chandler consistently asked insightful questions and was eager to help and work with other students in the class. Chandler exhibits many of the qualities that are essential to business professionals and students. She communicates clearly, works hard, and can apply concepts she has learned to new situations. Chandler has been a member of the Cabell Library Undergraduate Advisory Committee (CLUAC) since September of 2012. She has been a very active member of CLUAC, always participating in meetings and online discussions, and always volunteering for events and other opportunities. She even volunteered for activities during the "off-season" for CLUAC, which certainly goes above and beyond. I'm thrilled she joined us again this year. The only thing I'm sad about - that Chandler will soon be graduating!

In the fast-track Management Development Program, I completed rotations in all levels of claims, gaining an understanding of claims handing practices. At the end of the program, I led a team of 9 claims adjusters in our call center. In my former position as a Bodily Injury and Litigation Examiner, my responsibilities included:- Verifying accident facts, determining policy coverage and reviewing insurance contracts- Interacting with policyholders, claimants, medical insurers and body shops- Investigating complex claims involving liability disputes- Working with special investigative and payment recovery departments to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities- Accurately paying first party medical claims based on policy provisions and state mandates- Evaluating medical records for severe injuries and negotiating third party bodily injury settlements- Assisting defense counsel in litigation by reviewing case evidence and creating strategies to defend claims and protect our policyholders- Delivering excellent customer service to current and future policyholders and customers- Displaying proficiency in the use of claims systems and related business applications
