Virtualization Juniper Contrail (Contrail Cloud) – Key member of the architecture team to integrate virtualized Mobile Packet Core. Designed, implemented and supported multiple environments for design and test usage. Developed an overview knowledge transfer training course for the design/test community. Provided training/knowledge transfer session for tier 1 customer prior to lab entry. VMWare – Key in initial integration of the virtualization platform into VMWare. Created input and requirements on a deployment tool needed to help customers and users reduce turn up time for the virtualized application (deploymentAgent). Worked with multiple partners on how to integrate ours and their solutions into the same environment to make offering consistent. Worked with VMWare TAP team as well as technical support. Currently working on VMWare training/certifications. Openstack – Engineer, deploy, and manage multiple instances of Openstack clouds ranging from small server count to large scale performance testing environments. The clouds are based on Mirantis FUEL Ubuntu (6.1, 7.0, 8.0), Centos Juno. Experience with Packstack and RedHat’s RDO Openstack deployments. Developed deployment scripts to optimize, customize the system to ensure the virtual packet core will run in an optimum environment. Created, reviewed and implemented feature test plans and test cases, manual and automated, for multiple releases related to the AMPS/TDMA wireless access products.Engineered and implemented the groups first full scale real RF large office traffic system. This system included multiple cellsites and sectors using automated test controllers, signal generators, on air message captures and generators. Also included tool development for capturing and parsing system logs for debugging purposes.Responsible for developing relationships with major customers to develop realistic test configurations and traffic call models.Created internal lab standardization for feature test beds. This reduced lab setup time significantly and reduced the potential for configuration errors. Time was better spent on debugging and resolution of software issues. Show less

RF Antenna Design - Co-Op

Radio Frequency Transmission and Antenna Design Group. Provided Antenna Design Engineering support to manufacturing operations for F-16 GPS antenna programs. Designed and tested a 7-Element Chebyshev array with 25-dB down side lobes. Developed and submitted for patent review a non-destructive impedance and frequency tuning procedure for microstrip patch antennas. Measured radiation patterns for F-16 GPS and Over-The-Horizon antennas using Scientific Atlanta Anechoic Tapered and Outdoor Far Field Antenna Ranges. Measured Impedance and VSWR of L-band hybrid 3-dB coupler and F-16 patch antenna using Hewlett Packard 8510 and 8753 Network Analyzers. Designed, and fabricated printed circuit boards used testing of RF components. Electromagnetic Interference Engineering. Constructed a complete system level power and grounding diagram of the Navy’s Line-of-Sight Common Equipment Set (CES). Show less
