As Mechanical/Site Engineer, I worked with a subcontractor on a contract for four palaces belonging to a high-profile individual. The owner’s design specifications would change rapidly and without notice, so our key challenge was to maintain a very high degree of flexibility and resourcefulness to be able to execute design changes and requests quickly while keeping costs at a minimum. Below are some of my accomplishments and duties at The Qatari Modern Maintenance Company: • I worked across four palaces with complex engineering requirements, with each at a minimum of three storeys and a basement. • Inventory management and procurement, including monitoring stock, ordering and forecasting. • I oversaw a foreman and five workers, ensuring tasks were organised and performed in order of priority, overcoming language barriers within culturally diverse teams. • I ensured functional MEP and HVAC within architectural and structural designs and specifications, coordinating with inspection agencies and subcontractors for installation and testing.
