    • Subscriptions Representative
      • May 2012 - Sep 2012

Although I was recruited during the busiest time of year for the subscriptions department (Renewals) to help with re-seating every season, I was not officially added to the team until I became full-time in May of 2012.I was initially recruited to help the Subs team with Sub Renewals due to my ability to assign customers' seats between 3 different theaters while keeping in mind a puzzle that every seat needed to follow as well as guidelines based on customer seniority and history. This past renewal season my renewals skills were put to the test when the popular show, The Book of Mormon, almost tripled our subscription base. That renewal period was exhausting, but I am looking forward to applying what I learned to this upcoming renewals period. My strong ability to placate angry customers, while also holding firm to our policies brought me officially to the subscriptions department and prepared me to be moved shortly there after to the group sales department. • Audience Services Representative
      • Jun 2010 - May 2012

I started my career in the Audience Services department when the call center was first opened. Handling customer service in this department prepared me for a wide variety of customer personalities and issues. I also took on other in the office from the beginning, such as keeping the supply room stocked and organizing, handling maintenance for our mail machine and putting together a global calendar for the office.I was also given the responsibility early on of opening and closing the call center during my weekend and evening shifts. I was often scheduled to work without a manger on duty, so I took on the responsibility of handling emergency issues and making decisions in regards to policy exceptions for refunds and things like that. This department gave me a solid foundation in my knowledge of customer service and allowed me to learn a lot about keeping an office running smoothly. • Feb 2012 - May 2012

I worked closely with the Advertising Director to generate new advertisers for the magazine by researching our target demographic and compiling intricate spreadsheets for contact references. I helped to process advertisers’ paperwork and artwork using Filemaker Pro. I also worked on updating the database of advertisers on our website using PLONE and OpenX software. Although I came to realize that advertising is not my calling, this internship taught me a lot about the world of publishing, something that I am very passionate about. I also learned how to work closely with an executive on projects need detailed attention and organization. Show less
