The process of measurement is complex, precise and central to quantitative research. Quantitative statistics courses can be highly intimidating and stressful -- statistical, mathematical, computational. This spring, I registered for a required quantitative statistics course and had horrendous trepidation. Fortunately, my statistics professor, Dr. Mike, was not only aware of this type concern, he was prepared. Many of my fellow students shared my feelings. Dr. Mike not only made us feel confident, he helped us to think through the processes, and inspired us to dig deeper in acting on our desire to master this skill set and succeed. Dr. Mike was patient, empathetic, professional, available, and clear. I learned so much during this course, and am so thankful for this experience. Not only did I pass the course well, I developed a like for quantitative statistics – something that I never thought could happen. Dr. Mike is a great asset to his profession!

The consolidation of the Office of Online Programming and New England Institute of Business at Cambridge College has produced Cambridge College Global. This fully online division of the College offers over 20 degree programs at certificate, associate, bachelor, master's, and doctoral levels. I will now be serving as the chief academic officer for this division.

Here, I oversee online education and academy technology for over 150 courses, supervise 50 faculty members and head training and support for online best practice and course conversion. I liaise with 4 regional centers on the coordination of training, course offerings, and logistics and I effectively collaborated with all operational offices to create a new school of online learning. I also manage the departmental budget and an online program management company as it relates to course creation, program promotion, admissions, recruiting, and student advising. Some of my biggest positive contributions include that I spearheaded 5 fully online degree programs and led everything from regional accreditation approval and course development to faculty hiring and new student recruitment. This resulted in greatly increased enrollment and revenue for the college. I also moved over 480 in-seat courses to a remote learning center creating and delivering faculty and student training and administered a $10K grant providing computers for access-challenged students during the Spring 2020 semester. I oversaw online programs and managed relations with other institutions for a college of 5,000 students and $32M annual revenue. I forged 100 new articulation agreements through inter-institutional cooperation with over 25 colleges and universities in the greater Boston area, regionally, nationally and internationally. I oversaw 50 online and hybrid courses taught by 30 faculty members. As well, I published a handbook on the early college process, oversaw program administration, chaired the Curriculum and Development Committee, served on several other committees, and was a key constituent in the design and approval of all new degree programs. Some of my notable accomplishments here include innovating the expansion of the early college high school program to include 8 high schools with over 400 students, getting them enrolled in college courses on high school campuses. Also, I was a key figure in the transition of the online program from individual instructor-developed courses to a master course-based system and drove the successful implementation of the new learning management system, called Canvas. As a result of my work in this position, credit hour growth grew by 112% and the growth of online students expanded by 117% year over year. Show less
