I supervised Paul who served as the first Climate Action Fellow for the Towns of San Anselmo and Fairfax through the Climate Corps AmeriCorps program. He was instrumental in supporting me in our efforts to implement each Town's Climate Action Plan with several initiatives focused on building electrification, accelerating EV adoption, encouraging active transportation, improving organic waste diversion, and enhancing each Town's resiliency in the face of worsening climate impacts. Paul is a quick learner and is eager to help in any way he can. He approaches each project he works on with both passion and diligence. He was able to manage multiple projects simultaneously during his time as a Fellow and brought new initiatives to each Town that were embraced by both residents and staff such as having Rock the Bike at the Fairfax Festival for the first time. I always appreciated that he would stay up late many nights attending Town Council meetings and Climate Action Committee meetings with me, even when I didn't ask him to. He always went above and beyond like that. He exceeded my expectations with his community outreach efforts as well to educate businesses and residents about some of the ordinances/programs each Town had adopted along with State laws like SB 1383 that we were responsible for implementing. He is truly dedicated to addressing climate change and shows it in everything he does and how he communicates. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him and he would make a great asset to any team.

It is my pleasure to write this recommendation for Paul Whang after working together as his Climate Corps Regional Supervisor for the last year. Paul was the first ever Climate Corps Fellow to be hosted by the towns of Fairfax and San Anselmo. In his time as a Fellow, Paul demonstrated exceptional leadership in crafting and implementing initiatives aimed at addressing climate change and promoting environmental stewardship. His ability to engage with community members, local organizations, and Town Staff and Council was truly impressive. Paul is not only knowledgeable about current climate issues, but also has the unique skill of translating complex concepts into actionable steps that resonate with diverse audiences. Paul consistently impressed me with his flexibility and ability to problem solve in real time, without letting unforeseen circumstances impact his work or professional demeanor. I wholeheartedly endorse Paul for any future endeavor that he may pursue in the sustainability sector or beyond, as he is a passionate and skilled climate professional with an arsenal of transferable skills that I am confident will add value to any organization that they join.
