After my husband received a job offer to work at a firm in Florence, we moved back to our hometown. I began working for Florence One at this time at Henry Timrod Elementary School. Although I did not go to Henry Timrod Elementary as a child, I am a graduate of Florence One schools. I had our first child the summer of 2005. After the 2055-2066 school year, I decided to stay home for one year. After my husband received a job offer to work at a firm in Florence, we moved back to our hometown. I began my teaching career as an eighth grade reading teacher at Summit Parkway Middle School. I did one of my internships there while a student at the University of South Carolina. I felt very fortunate to start out at such a wonderful school. I left after I got married in 2003 to move with my husband to Macon, Georgia as he finished school at Mercer Law.
