Ian and I started work on the same day, which helped in establishing a bond at the outset. It was wonderful having someone knowledgeable to bounce ideas off and to check that my thought processes were along the correct line. He got on fantastically with his Police Federations and was trusted and relied on as an expert by his forces. A great friend and colleague with an obsession with fast cars!!
