As the Volunteer Support and Development Specialist, I serve closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to develop a plan for recruiting and maintaining a volunteer database supportive of the Bonner network and beyond. Capacity building roles include volunteer recruitment, volunteer management and database development/ meeting support. This benefits the community by providing high quality volunteer services to the broad range of populations that Unity House serves. I work with the Development Office to create and run events to raise money for Unity. I also participate in various trainings to learn more about the issues that the clientele I serve deal with. I apply for grants and that raise money for the organization to use to serve the community.

As the College Access Associate, I work with the youth individually to see to it that they receive the academic and leadership skills necesary to succeed in college and the career of their choosing. This will ultimately increase access to education for at risk youth in the capital region. Capacity building roles include developing new training modules, developing new curriculum, and organizing volunteer training workshops.
