Windows Automation Engineer, Active Directory SME, Consultant to Novartis Pharmaceuticals For this 12 month contract, I was employed in a development role for a consulting firm in Denville, New Jersey. As consultants to Novartis, my team created a virtualized office space through Citrix technology, providing access for Novartis’ 10,000 remote workers to a standardized desktop with per-user customization. My task was been to automate work in the Windows environment to streamline our system deployment, and to create any reporting/management tools (scripts, C# applications, ASP.Net web sites) for both the API and Novartis management teams. • Developed in-house reporting tools for management to quickly survey the Citrix infrastructure for any potential issues (missing hotfixes, low drive space, firewall rules in error, etc.) • Worked closely with Novartis Corporate Security to assure that our environment stayed within strict federal and international guidelines (HIPPA, SOX). • Streamlined deployment processes for various environments, reducing deployment time for Windows 2008R2 servers from a 12-hour to 20-hour manual process down to a 3-hour automated process. • Standardized OS builds to conform to Novartis specifications. I was a Corporate Officer in an 800+ member IT group, tasked with supporting the financial goals of the company. The Bear Stearns ITG department gave 24x7 support to all facets of the business, offering high availability of vital infrastructure systems and trading / analysis environments. • Authored numerous applications and scripts to automate common AD administrative tasks (LDAP, ADSI, WMI), and to assist fellow ITG support teams to complete complex and time-consuming tasks. Several of these scripts are listed on Microsoft’s community scripts web site. • Management of more than 3500 Win2k and Win2k3 servers, as well as 28,000 Win2k Pro and WinXP workstations. • Oversee and maintain world-wide infrastructure servers, including Domain Controllers, Exchange Servers, DNS, WINS, DHCP, SharePoint, and IIS servers. • Coordinate with Corporate Security, Internal Audit and Compliance to implement security policies via GPOs, logon scripts, and server setup scripts. • Coordinate with all corporate business units to create and document Disaster Recovery and Rapid Recovery and Deployment procedures. • Manage Active Directory trust relationships with corporate subsidiaries.
