  Together with Tuul Erdenebold and Justine Donia Nota, I worked on the educational route through the Green Tower of the Bajes Kwartier. The aim of the entire project is to redevelop the old BijlmerBajes prison, located in Overamstel, into a new sustainable home to around 1350 families. One of the old prison towers is being transformed into the green heart of the area. By showcasing several innovative technologies, it aims to connect citizens, academia and industry. Our job was to bring this educational route through the green tower to life by creating the first concept. In this project, Young Urban Engineers is working together with the AMS Institute and a consortium consisting of AM, AT Capital, and Cairn, called Bajes Kwartier Ontwikkeling C.V. My role as co-creation expert includes stakeholder management, hosting design thinking sessions, interviewing and setting up questionnaires and methods of analysis. Show less

  In this project, Danielle Schol, Brian van Laar, Vincent Buurma and I explored the congestion on the housing market in Almere. The current shortage of housing leads to congestion on the housing market, enormous rental and purchase prices, and difficulties in finding an adequate home. Through co-creation, we developed a step-by-step plan for municipalities in the Netherlands to promote healthy circulation in the housing market. The Urban Living Lab project called RUIMTELAB, guided by RUIMTEVOLK, with the supervision of Janneke Rutgers (case-owner) was part of the MSc program MADE. RUIMTEVOLK is a creative consultancy for urban and regional developments. Show less

  Together with 11 ambitious students, we created an innovative design that enables (high end) sustainable food production right in the hart of the largest metropolitan area of the world Guangzhou, China. During this 10-month project I was responsible for the organisation of the group and worked on both the integration of the social as the economic aspects of our concept. I also really enjoyed working on the storyline of our concept named ‘the Turtle’. In addition to the recognition of our concept with the third place, the process of designing an inclusive design within a multidisciplinary team of students was of utmost value for my development as urban engineer.   Being an café employee at Café Fonteyn meant being an "all-round café employee”. Thus, serving drinks, working as a bartender, preparing (simple) drinks and lunch meals and opening and closing the cafe. My role as assistant manager at Café Fonteyn concerned the responsibility for the daily routine and, when necessary, problem solving (in the absence of a manager). The problems varied from problems with the cash register, espresso machine and other equipment, to problems with neighbours / annoying guests and complaints from guests. Show less
