Chethan held an internship with Blocklight during the summer of 2019 as part of a 6 person development team and worked on a variety of development-related items; from the development of our MVP to creating new app features, approvals with technology partners, and more. -> Scaled the monolithic Django, PostgreSQL based service to a modern micro-services architecture based on Go-lang, NoSQL MongoDB, and Kafka messaging system. Increased event processing from 50 to 4000+ per second.-> Implemented and deployed a Kubernetes based infrastructure (AWS EKS) from scratch. Migrated all the EC2 deployments to EKS to accommodate an increase in average QPS from 30 over 4000+ for the company’s flagship “Turing Vision” VSaas product and reduced the deployment time from over 45 minutes to 5 minutes with zero downtime.-> Implemented cost-saving measures such as reserved instances, savings plans, and rightsizing of cloud resources, resulting in a 30% reduction in infrastructure costs.-> Spearheaded the creation of the company’s on-call infrastructure from scratch, including installation, configuration, and integration of Prometheus and Grafana with EC2 and EKS target systems. Created and fine-tuned alerting rules and thresholds to ensure timely notifications for outages reducing mean time to resolution (MTTR) to less than 10 minutes.-> Designed and implemented CI pipelines using GitHub Actions, leveraging YAML-based workflows to automate various stages of the software development lifecycle, including code compilation, unit testing and deployment to EKS. Designed and implemented a CD pipeline from scratch using Argo CD to automate the deployment of applications to Kubernetes clusters. Show less

Vehicle tracking device -> Developed the firmware in C for commercial prototype of an IoT based vehicle tracking device that programs the micro-controller unit (STM32 F030CC) to work with GPS device and modem (Quectel MC60) to fetch the GPS coordinates. -> Implemented a MQTT- protocol connection that publishes the GPS coordinates to AWS-IoT server.
