Dianne Beattie - Securing Your Business Made Simple

Jeremy was the executive director of Executives in Action when I became a volunteer coach. I have never met a more committed leader! His strategic expertise, leadership qualities and deep humility set Jeremy distinctly apart from so many in the NPO space. I observed Jeremy's incredibly contagious personality, generous spirit and passion make him an excellent partner in business!

Ben Greenberg

Jeremy's humility and self-awareness (somehow) speak louder than his experiences and breadth of accomplishments. With no tangible benefit to himself, he generously took time to share his expertise, advice, and network after I "cold-called" him on LinkedIn. He's truly committed to using his gifts to enable for-cause organizations/people to change the world. I'm thankful to have crossed paths with Jeremy, and encourage all looking for career advice to seek him out.

Kyle Cureau

Jeremy is not only shrewd but generous with his consulting style. He gets to the heart of the engagement and draws insights around what would otherwise seem like chaos. I learned a ton about the fundraising space from him, and look forward to working with him in the future.

OUR MISSION We are on a mission to strengthen human resiliency via philanthropy and impact investing. OUR VISION We envision a day when humanity is a multi-planetary species that is freed from the need for charity to address gaps in its public systems and threats to its survival. OUR CLIENTS (“PARTNERS”) We exclusively partner with high-capacity leaders driving systemic change in the fundamental threats to our planet and our species. OUR APPROACH We provide ongoing support to a small number of partners whose missions align with our focus on systemic change, particularly in the architecture of how funding is allocated. All of our partners are global leaders driving narrative change on key issues that affect the future of humanity and our planet. We believe that these efforts can ultimately create the environment in which true change can occur — by shaping culture and shifting public policies. Some of our partners are also actively advocating for policy change. Several are even building mechanisms to better enable others to fund systemic change across the sector. OUR MODEL We generally provide ongoing support based on a monthly retainer. Our partnerships typically involve: * Coaching: Weekly, biweekly, or monthly meetings in-person/virtually with our founder. * Consulting: Ongoing advisory support with strategy development in between these meetings. This includes on-site and virtual facilitation of retreats/trainings, moderating events, co-hosting convenings, etc * Connections: Facilitating connections to external resources and to other changemakers. While these efforts can generate revenue for our partners, we do not consider ourselves fundraisers as much as community builders. I am particularly grateful for NTFB’s embrace of the #ParticipatoryDesign of the story: Lady Bug notices that her friend Butterfly is hungry, but instead of simply responding with charity…. she and her friends invite Butterfly to lead their efforts to design an end to the whole community’s hunger! HOW YOU CAN HELP: Please let me know if you want to buy copies for your school, faith community, or company! I would love to connect you to the team at NTFB to discuss bulk orders. Or if you just want to buy a copy for your family, you can pre-order yours at www.NTFB.org/HungerBugsMe Together, we can write a better ending to hungry children’s stories! PERSONAL NOTE: This is an especially poignant book for me because the most personally impactful experiences of my career were at an NTFB partner agency: CitySquare. That was when my relationship with the Food Bank began …. in 2004 when I joined Larry James, Gerald Britt, and Keith Ackerman at what was then Central Dallas Ministries. I didn’t know the term “participatory” back then, but I now look back and see how our approach of “neighbors helping neighbors” and building on “the wealth of the poor” formed the foundation for this approach to my work. This book wouldn’t be here without those early lessons. 🙏🏼 Show less My second book, #HungerBugsMe, was a collaboration with the North Texas Food Bank. Such children are up to six times more likely to end up in prison themselves, and our research has revealed that a significant contributing factor is the negative self-identity that these children develop due to an inability to understand their parent's incarceration. Using the metaphor of a 'time out' to explain incarceration to kids, the book equips young readers with an appropriate understanding of what is happening in their family. Originally written by Jeremy Gregg, the book was co-created with the insights of formerly incarcerated parents (as well their co-parents), child therapists, criminal justice professors, as well as leading voices in the movement to transform mass incarceration (ranging from the politically progressive leaders of Equal Justice USA to the politically conservative leaders of the Charles Koch Institute, both of whom have endorsed the book). Our goal is to donate at least 1,000 printed copies of the book to nonprofits that work with such children. Our premier partnership is with Big Brothers Big Sisters, whose "Amachi" program provides mentors to children with a parent in prison. Additional partnerships include the Prison Entrepreneurship Program, Prison Fellowship, and other organizations. I am one of the producers of “Unreleased: Imprisonment after Prison,” the explosive new documentary from Emmy & Peabody award-winning director, Thaddeus D. Matula. The film Examines the way that the prison industrial complex extends to our streets… and examines it’s impact and the ever-broadening criminalization of poverty.
