After six years of hard work, prosperous achievements, and steadfast dedication at the region's leading (and 100% local) hunger-relief organization, I was offered an amazing opportunity to expand my role in the communications department by becoming the Food Bank's first-ever Communications & Marketing Manager. In this new role, although my day-to-day responsibilities remain relatively the same, I now oversee our department's intern program while developing fresh ideas and nurturing existing ones to better help our organization bridge the gap between our volunteers, donors, and other valued stakeholders and further strengthen the connection to our mission. Listed below are some of my additional responsibilities.- Manages in-house email marketing plans for Food Bank internal and external communications deploying information to more than 500 nonprofit partners and more than 70,000 stakeholders and donors - Devises strategies on how to ethically grow the number of subscribers and stategize then implement improvements to maintain transparency and drive engagement- Identifies opportunities to drive storytelling around the Food Bank’s brand with stories from the perspectives of our clients, donors and volunteers using blogs, videos and newsletters- Collaborates with the Food Bank’s CEO and other organizational leaders to construct dozens of PowerPoint presentations used to educate stakeholders and cultivate future support- Assists in the coordination of media appearances for an assortment of events, food drives, and campaigns- Provides support to the events team with the planning, marketing and execution of major fundraising events including the biennial Hunger Conference, San Diego Blues Festival, San Diego Run for the Hungry 5K & 10K and the Chefs, Cork & Craft Gala among others- Manages the Communications Department’s internship program Show less

Currently, I work full-time at the San Diego Food Bank under the supervision of the Food Bank's VP of Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs.
