Worked with Lester from 2006 to 2009. During this time, I managed the U.S. structured finance group at UniCredit Bank, which included Lester and several other professionals. Our group worked on projects using teams of two or three individuals where Lester was consistently a senior person on origination and execution opportunities. His responsibilities included identifying transactions, working with his team to build a consensus on the merits and risks of the opportunity and effectively communicating the recommendation to a group consisting of professionals that included people that were both familiar and unfamiliar with the risks inherent in structured finance. During this extended period, I was consistently impressed with Lester’s performance and reliability and felt that the more junior members of our group benefited from Lester’s work ethic and example. Lester was well-liked in the group and his presence in the group was always a positive one.
