Disability Support Worker
-
May 2022 - Mar 2023
While working as a Disability Support Worker, I had the pleasure of working with people from a variety of age groups and supported participants who experience differing disabilities. No two days in support work are the same, but the support I provided often included accompanying participants in their community participation, assisting them with their daily tasks and activities, and working with them in identifying and working towards their goals and aspirations.

Community Support Worker
-
Nov 2021 - Mar 2023
My work as a Community Support Worker began as my second student placement and was a role that I continued to work in on a voluntary basis. In my role as a Community Support Worker, I acted as a first point of contact for members of the community who were experiencing personal or financial hardship and provide them with assistance. This assistance generally consisted of providing information, material or financial aid, advocacy, and referrals. Student Mentor
-
Feb 2021 - Dec 2021
I completed my first student placement at Central Ranges LLEN, within a program named Project Ready. As a Student Mentor, it was my responsibility to assist the facilitator in running the VET program. This could take different forms depending on what the lesson plan was, but on a typical day I would assist the students in gaining understanding in the topics we covered. As Project Ready is a work readiness program, I would also work with the students to explore potential career pathways, whether that be through further education, training or finding their place in the workforce. Player Coach

Feb 2021 - Dec 2021
As a Player Coach, it was my responsibility to facilitate sessions for the children. This would essentially entail running a training session for them, consisting of fun games and engaging activities. As One Ball is a community program with a strong emphasis on health and wellbeing, fostering a fun and inclusive environment was also essential for me to ensure that the children felt comfortable and confident in playing soccer, socialising, and forming new friendships.
