I had the pleasure of being mentored by Lexi during my boot camp at DesignLab from April'22 to March'23. Lexi has helped me throughout my UX journey in ensuring I understand the fundamentals of UX and UI and ensuring that I am well-trained and prepared for my interviews, portfolio presentations and case study presentations. She made notes of all my strengths and shortcomings with keen observations and ensured I felt confident whenever I did not feel my best. Learning new things can be intimidating but an understanding mentor like Lexi can help make the journey fun, exciting and fruitful. I am extremely grateful to have found a mentor like her.

I had the privilege of being mentored by Lexi from July 2021 to April 2022 as part of DL's UX Academy course. Bringing her expertise of User Experience Design, Lexi guided me in astute ways, providing extensive feedback and pushing me to deliver design work to my best abilities. She helped hone my skills and build my confidence as a budding UX designer, always pushing me beyond my boundaries while ensuring learnings are manageable, digestible and tailored to my personal needs and goals. Lexi showed great care and attention to my professional as well as personal growth. She provided safe spaces for me to work on any weaknesses, and taught me how to better leverage on unique strengths. She taught me the value of experimentation, and of taking bold steps to explore new methods and way-of-thinking in my design process. With Lexi's in-depth insights and knowledge of human-centered design thinking, she truly played a pivotal role in my growth as a designer, having laid the foundations and instilled in me a massive adoration for the field.

Working collaboratively with small and big teams, implementing a user centred design approach to production to achieve business objectives and satisfy user needs. As a user centred designer I worked closely with product managers, researchers, designers and developers to implement evaluation strategies and design engaging interactions for MOO's online experience. My most recent work was leading the redesign of MOO's print and design tool which involved • running a design workshop and design studio • mapping out user journeys & task flows • interaction design, material design specifications • information design specifications • validation of concepts and UI design • outlining an evaluation strategy • axure prototyping • sharing user insights • refining and prioritising user stories and designs Show less

As a UX consultant my work at One to One involved evaluation strategy, facilitating qualitative user research (usability testing, focus groups, face to face interviews, expert reviews), sharing user insights with product and design teams and delivering UX recommendations to brands such as Nick Jr, Paypal, Unibet and BAA. An earlier piece of work I did as an intern at One To One was to investigate the feasibility of a neuroscientific approach to measuring user engagement. Using qualitative and quantitative methodologies and tools (PrEmo, Tobii eye tracking and the Emotiv headset, to quantify brain activity) our aim was to prove whether user engagement can be quantified using this set of tools and if so what is the best method.
