Many weeks of work were completed over the above period, gradually gaining a more senior role year on year as the University asked me to return. Prepared, planned and executed the summer graduation ceremonies of which there were 12 during the week of graduation. The summer graduation duties:• Attended regular weekly meetings with staff of all levels to brief them on ceremony preparation.• Liaised with staff, VIP’s and students, within and outside of the University, further increasing customer service skills.• Became proficient with the student database and extracting associated spreadsheets.• Worked as a team leader during the ceremonies, acting as the first point of contact for guests, graduands and staff. Provided necessary hands-on training to team members prior to the ceremonies and instructed them via radio during.• It was essential to be fast at thinking on my feet in a high-pressure environment, handling complaints and redirecting people as appropriate, whilst also ensuring guests and graduands had a special day and one which they would remember for the rest of their life.• Attended follow up meetings and produced reflection reports to point out improvements for the coming years.
