NCMA Food System Coordinator

In partnership with the CHNA9, the NCMA Food System Coordinator facilitates collaboration with food system stakeholders throughout the NCMA region. Connects partners (i.e., direct serviceproviders, anchor institutions, food focused local/regional/state coalitions, local producers, retailers, consumers, policymakers, and philanthropists) with opportunities to increase equitable access to healthy food and food security in at-risk NCMA communities. Works with partners (e.g., local funders, anchor institutions, ProjectBread, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Executive Office of Elder Affairs, chambers of commerce,volunteer-based organizations, United Way, the Worcester County Food Bank, local and state representatives) to identifyaccessible resources (e.g., funding, supplies, volunteers) to assist with COVID-19-related food security needs. Responsible for the development and implementation of a Regional FoodSystem Action Plan, in collaboration with partner networks, prioritizing the most emergent needs and identifying gaps that need to be addressed in the NCMA region.The NCMA Food System Coordinator is also responsible for best practices research and evidence-based models from other regions related to recommended policy and system changes that build a resilient and equitable food system, to help inform long term regional strategies.
