      Cheryl has 30+ years of experience working in higher education and is an emerita faculty member at TMCC. While at TMCC she has worked as the International Services Program Coordinator, Counselor and Re-Entry Center Coordinator. She lived and worked in Morocco for 2.5 years at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane where she provided personal, career and crisis counseling, taught classes and developed student development programs. She worked with the Northern Nevada International Center located at the University of Nevada, Reno providing intercultural communication skills and cultural diversity training to international visitors, public organizations, schools and businesses, large and small. Cheryl holds a master's degree in psychology with an emphasis in counseling and a bachelor's degree in psychology from California State University, Chico. She has extensive training experience and has presented hundreds of workshops and seminars both nationally and internationally. Her training focuses on intercultural communication skills, diversity, equity and inclusion. She has taught numerous college courses at the university and community college level which have included: Cultural Diversity Issues in Public Health, Ethnic Groups in Contemporary Society, Topics in Race and Racism, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Human Resources, Introduction to Counseling, Small Group Communications, Information Literacy Skills, Educational, Personal and Career Development. Cheryl is considered a "Third Culture Kid"and grew up in a military family where she spent most of her developmental years living in Spain and Libya. Her cultural experiences have taught her the importance of being adaptable and flexible and have shaped her life. Developed and facilitated numerous training sessions for students on the topics of time management, stress management, test anxiety, student health, utilizing campus resources and communication and interpersonal skills.
