Demian gave me the chance of a lifetime to get started in product management at NPR. During our time together, he provided an environment where I was able to learn and grow while caring deeply about our colleagues and our mission. Putting me in leadership positions from day one taught me how not only how to be a product manager, but how to be part of a team. Combining a razor sharp intellect with a rye sense of humor, Demian supported my development with energy and honesty. He is able to provide both the analytical and strategic thinking to challenge your ideas while being empathetic and caring enough to make sure you grow as a person in the process. After five years together, I can safety say that I am who I am today because of opportunities he helped provide for me. Finding someone who cares more about you as a person than as an employee should be the standard for any manager, but it's a rare find.

Demian is an exceptionally talented person with a diverse set of skills and the savvy to know how to use them all. He is a very shrewd business person with a natural ability to think strategically and look into the future. Additionally, Demian has deep (and I mean really deep) knowledge of finance and business which translates into making thoughtful decisions on how to achieve the strategic visions. But what sets Demian apart from other product and/or business strategists are his technical chops. In pursuing any of the tactical decisions, Demian is able to talk the language of developers and even build examples. In fact, some of Demian's technical solutions were strong enough that they graduated with little modification to production even though he was not a part of the technical team. He has tremendous initiative and motivation and is constantly working to move the ball forward. At NPR, Demian has been able to transform the NPR mobile strategy which resulted in more than 100% page view growth in just one year. In achieving this amazing growth, Demian envisioned which platforms were critical to his success, prepared business plans for developing on those platforms, negotiated legal agreements with partners, prepared communication plans, maintained internal and external relationships to implement the solutions, envisioned the user experiences and (in some cases) the technical underpinnings of the apps, and coordinated the deployment of them to the various app stores. In that same year, NPR went from a very limited mobile web site experience to having a robust mobile web site, the NPR News iPhone app, the NPR Music iPhone app, the NPR News Android app, the iPad app, the HTML5/tablet site, the Chrome Web Store app and the Symbian app. This is NPR's future and Demian is squarely in the middle of it, leading the charge. To sum up, Demian is the complete package. And to top things off, Demian is just a good guy...
