I applied, interviewed, & was hired while home from college on spring break. This started as a summer job, but became a job to work between other jobs. All assignments were at various departments of Travelers Insurance Company (then St. Paul Companies). Assignments ranged from a few days to a few months in length. Duties, supervisor, & rate of pay varied with each assignment. Pay ranged from 7.50-$11.50/hour. From June until August of 1997, I sent & received faxes; filed; sorted; answered phones; & delivered mail in the Investments (Stock) department. From May until December of 1998, I was a file clerk in the printing department. I began by putting items into the correct files, & ensuring the files were in alpha-numeric order. I then begin separating the essential paperwork, in preparation for boxing. The next step was boxing the files, and sending them off to be stored long term on microfilm.Throughout this process, Microsoft Office products were used to maintain organization. In the end, approximately 75 boxes of old records were sent to be put on microfilm. On three different occasions, I worked in the Education & Training department. The job duties included making classroom arrangements; procuring materials; filing; sorting; copying; taking attendance; tallying surveys; assembling manuals; proof-reading documents before they went public; & various other clerical duties. For two weeks (10 days), I was a Tape Shelver. I loaded & unloaded tapes from the mail into silos; I also moved tapes between silos. The buckets of tapes were heavy. I wore a Velcro back brace for extra support. I also spent 3 months as a clerk in the Benefits department. I separated benefits paperwork & prepared the files to be microfilmed. Show less

Worked during the Summers of 1999 and 2000, performing seasonal work.Critiqued & scored standardized student essays in the subjects of reading, social studies, & vocational living. Sample answers were supplied, ranging from 0-5. Then I assigned a score based on the amount of detail given, & how well the question was answered, compared to the sample. Here is an example of my organizational abilities: Upon receiving my sample answers, I arranged them in a 3-ring (D-ring) notebook, & applied Post-it notes. This way, I could locate sample answers quickly & easily. Show less
