Focused primarily on two aspects within one month of the internship duration. The rising issues related to Pothole Deaths in India was the first research which I carried out which helped me work for a social cause and get in touch with the strata of society which is directly affected due to this issue. This segment was concluded with submission of a paper on the current scenario and the awareness within the society. The second part of this internship was utilized to study in detail, the concept of Online Dispute Resolution and therefore, finding out at a primary level, the reason for underutilization of this concept within India. The objective of this internship was to understand the working of a District Legal Service Authority. I was privileged to have gotten the opportunity to engage in conversation with highest dignitaries of the West Bengal State Legal service Authority throughout the interview process prior to selection for the same. The internship inculcated within me, a significant emotional quotient as I dealt with people belonging to diverse backgrounds based on financial stability, age or other factors. I could gather enough knowledge on functioning of various wings of the Legal Service Authority including the Juvenile Justice Board, which became the most significant experience during the tenure of this internship. The organization is an NGO working majorly in the field of Migrant Labors during my tenure of internship. I was fortunate to have received a chance to engage in direct conversations with the migrant laborers living in the hardest humanly conditions possible. This internship was the perfect first internship for me as a lawyer to understand the need of having strong and unambiguous laws within the country. I could deter that the migrant workers, sex workers, victims of human trafficking, and children with disabilities in the orphanages would be the direct beneficiaries of strong and stable legal regimes within India. This internship brought meaning to my studies in law right while I was pursuing the first year of my course. Show less
