    • College Counseling Assistant
      • Jul 2018 - Jul 2020

As the Counseling Assistant, I am responsible for all office operations related to the application process. First and foremost, this means submitting college application materials for our students. Over the past two years, I have sent materials for 160 students for their combined 2000 college applications. My other duties included coordinating college representative visits, counseling students, parents, faculty and staff on how to best use our online systems, assisting with event planning, and lastly, database management in order to prepare bi-annual data reports. Recently, I managed the transition to a new college application tracking software. To ensure a successful changeover, I crafted user guides for students, parents, and teachers, and held in-person trainings on how to utilize our new online services. I also updated the office training manual, which was out of date when I started, so that my successor would be able to quickly learn and adapt to their new role. This role required my excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to successfully work with a broad range of constituencies while challenging me to become better organized and more detail-oriented. • Admission Assistant
      • Jun 2016 - Jun 2018

The Admission Assistant role was a wonderful opportunity to hone my communication, marketing, and sales skills, as I collaborated with my Director of Admission in running the admission office for one of the most prestigious independent schools in the Bay Area. As the admission assistant, I supported the Director of Admission by taking on a variety of tasks and responsibilities in our small two-person office. I counseled 200 families through the admission process each year, explaining the next steps, and advising unique action items based on family circumstances. I also played a major role in recommending, designing and implementing more modern admissions procedures that took advantage of our online database. With knowledge of the database, I became the point person to produce lists and data reports for my admission director, headmaster, and board of trustees. The Director of Admission and I also planned and hosted 5 events annually that were designed to inform and attract new families. We also went to off-campus community events to introduce our school to low-income and first-generation families who were looking for alternative schooling options. Each year that I was in this role, we were able to maintain prospect interest despite San Francisco's increasingly competitive private school market. Show less
