I know Bob for last 20 years, and it was a pleasure to work with Bob during my tenures in Transmission Asset Management and Transmission Engineering. Bob is one of the rare Project Managers who strives for perfection in all areas of project management. He is extremely hardworking and takes pride in delivering projects safely, on time and within budget. Because of these qualities of Bob, he was given the responsibility of managing BC Hydro's major multimillion dollar transmission projects such as Forest Kerr and Interior to Lower Mainland transmission lines. In addition to managing projects, Bob also showed his leadership abilities in delivering BC Hydro's major Strategic Initiatives such as Engineering Service Agreement between BC Hydro and BC Transmission Corporation. Besides his excellent professional skills, Bob is a kind person who has worked for many charitable causes over the years such as 24 Hour Run for Disabled Kids. Most recently, Bob and I collaborated on a joint consulting assignment for a major power utility and telecommunications company. Transmission Corporation.• Lead the quarterly review of the safety and environmental performance criteria of the expectations outlined in the Master Services agreement between BC Hydro and the B.C. Transmission Corporation.• Created and implemented the audit review process for the performance reviews of the various agreements entered into between BC Hydro and the B.C. Transmission Corporation.• Lead the quarterly review of the safety and environmental performance criteria of the expectations outlined in the Master Services agreement between BC Hydro and the B.C. Transmission Corporation.• Lead the strategic property acquisition for Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant substation.• Developed corridor preservation process for BC Hydro's future transmission and distribution infrastructure. • Lead the streamlining of business processes and in the implementation of new joint initiatives with B.C. Transmission Corporation. Some of the initiatives included defining the Role of Owner’s Engineer, outlining the Transmission Assets Decommissioning process, the Process for the Engagement of Third Party Service Providers, the development of Transmission Instructions, and defining the Work Allocation Process.• Lead BC Hydro in the role as the Senior Project Manager in addressing long-standing asset management issues, including re-negotiating and updating Electricity Supply Agreements and Operating and Maintenance Agreements. As the Manager of the Transmission Design group in Transmission Engineering, I managed a team of engineers and technical staff who provided engineering services to the B.C. Transmission Corporation for major capital transmission projects and transmission asset management programs / projects. Key highlights included:• Managed the overhead transmission design team that was extensively involved in the design and construction of multi-million dollar major and high profile overhead transmission projects. • Developed a highly motivated and diverse transmission design team that proved to be instrumental in the successful completion of the Vancouver Island Transmission Reinforcement, Fort St John Area Reinforcement, Langley Reinforcement, Mount Lehman Transmission Reinforcement and Ministry of Transportation transmission relocation projects. • Led a team of over 20 people from various engineering and non-technical departments to successfully complete the Definition Phase of the Interior to Lower Mainland Transmission Reinforcement project for the B.C. Transmission Corporation. • Represented BC Hydro in streamlining processes and implementing new joint initiatives with B.C. Transmission Corporation. Some of the initiatives were related to the Role of Owner’s Engineer, Engaging Third Party Service Providers, and the creation of the ‘Design Basis’ template for transmission projects. • Represented BC Hydro in the role as the Project Management Principal to develop consistent project management practices within Transmission Engineering.
