Educational Intern
-
Jul 2021 - Feb 2022
As Get Lit's Educational Intern, I developed curriculum materials for poetry educational programs across Los Angeles County that aligns with Common Core, State, and Emotional Learning standards. In this role, I selected and evaluated poems for inclusion in the annual Get Lit Poetry Anthology and compiled statistical information on featured poets to ensure equitable representation of qualities like minority status and poetic movement. I developed and implemented an organization and digitization process for online anthologies and ensured that all relevant information, including poem themes and rhetorical devices, are accurate and provided educational value; this process that I developed is now used as the standard organization procedure for Educational Interns as they continue this annual work.
