As CEO of ASH Worldwide, Andy reported to me. We had just acquired the LBWPC, and I had the pleasure of working with him for almost two years. Above all, as we were growing our global footprint, I greatly appreciated Andy’s ability to lead, communicate effectively and connect with people from every corner in the world with a unique ability to inspire and motivate. Andy came up an innovative idea to combine ASH technology with American product to create a totally new unit to penetrate a lucrative market niche. Despite being 6 or 7 hours behind Europe time, he and his team never missed one conference call or monthly meeting in Zurich, Switzerland! Andy has been a true asset and his passion for innovative product development, creating and managing channel tension, expanding distribution channels would be contagious and exhilarating for any team. On a personal note, I greatly appreciated Andy’s friendship and his management style and especially his balance of his work and personal life.

I shadowed Andy in learning the ropes in the real world of sales, in the challenges of being a leader and the importance of building teams. Andy is a solid point of reference for me as a benchmark in character, enthusiasm and initiative. I appreciate the opportunity I had to work with Andy at MTD. In broadening my own horizons I recognize the rarity of true leadership and value the experience with Andy all the more because of it.
