I had the pleasure of working with Julia at Alert Labs, spending a significant amount of time collaborating on a new product launch. What struck me most was both her deep technical knowledge combined with her product sense, always approaching problems with curiosity and being able to frame solutions with trade offs and the anticipated impact they would have on our customers. I admire her tenacity and determination to build great products, but what impresses me most is her self-awareness and desire to continuously learn and grow from the experiences of others. I highly recommend working with her if you have the opportunity. I know I would welcome the chance to do it again.

Julia is a phenomenal person to work with. She is motivated, efficient and possesses excellent people skills. We have worked together for 1.5 and years and she has provided me and my marketing team mates with invaluable software and product information that helped bring our marketing efforts into focus. The icing on the cake is that she also has a great sense of humor! Everybody looks forward to coming in and working with Julia.

• Leading two teams of 5 developers, software engineers, and QA staff in developing educational courses (videos & hands-on programming labs) on the topics of "AI for Good" and "Mathematics for Machine Learning", overseeing product development from inception to implementation. • Responsible for the quality of our products, ensuring that they meet ambitious learning goals while being easy to comprehend, accessible, and a pleasure to engage with for our learners. • Collaborating with the marketing team to research and understand a market need for a new specialization. Then, consulting with subject-matter experts from industry and academia to develop modern, relevant curricula. • After developing an understanding of our target learner (persona), I work with my teams to develop actionable learning objectives (targets) and then work backwards to accomplish them - first designing the assessments and then developing the lectures and teaching material. Running detailed alpha and beta tests along the way allow us to iterate on the product based on learner feedback. • Co-created a training program to upskill existing post-secondary educators to produce high-quality asynchronous, online content. • Product development (concept to market) of the company's first data-logging and diagnostic tool, which interfaced with a vehicle’s CAN bus to query and record vehicle operating parameters and presented the results graphically and numerically to the user through a locally-hosted web application. • Final product was shipped with every vehicle, allowing the company to diagnose vehicle faults remotely, saving the company tens of thousands of dollars per fault, as a technician could now diagnose a vehicle remotely instead of needing to fly to a distant mine site. • Researched & tested battery technologies to produce the safest, most reliable, and long-lasting battery packs for our mine vehicles. Tests included cold-weather performance, life-cycle analysis, and others. • Designed, wired, and programmed an automated battery tester, and also purchased a production-scale battery tester, whose purpose was to characterize and test each individual cell prior to its assembly in a battery pack. • Battery tester and new production processes identified faulty cells, reducing vehicle faults experienced by customers, improving the reliability of our vehicles, and saving the company and customer hundreds of thousands of dollars.
