I had the pleasure of working alongside Donovan whilst he was QA Manager at Clearbank. I have rarely found a manager that understands and supports products as Donovan. Also a very cool and clam person to deal with and I recommend and wish him great successes and achievements to follow.

I had the pleasure of working with Dono and feel he is an amazing leader who goes above and beyond to help other people learn and grow! He excels at bridging the gap between the business, development and testing teams, making collaboration seamless. His commitment to project success and client satisfaction is truly commendable. His willingness to share knowledge and provide guidance has not only elevated the skills of a QA team but has also fostered a culture of continuous improvement. His extensive knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices has consistently elevated organizations in quality standards. Dono possesses a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. I highly recommend Dono and feel he would be a strong asset to any organization who has the honor of hiring him.

In addition to continuing the Quality Assurance journey and improvements in GAN I am also responsible for how we get our software released to live. Bringing in a strategic vision to the team along with an implementation plan built by us as a collective group.

Managing a large QA team and function at GAN to transform and improve the efficiency of software delivery through driving QA as a first class citizen in the SDLC. We plan to achieve this by adopting a Shift left/ATDD approach to how we develop software.

I was given the opportunity to take on these extra challenges to help build a world class engineering team. There were a lot of startup processes and technical debt throughout the engineering teams which was starting to highlight some inefficiencies and problems. Working with the teams we have adopted very strong ATDD processes where our teams are ensuring a high quality bar before the first line of code is written. We also see that this approach has dramatically helped to speed up the delivery of new features along with improving our accuracy of estimation for delivery dates etc. • Implemented an efficient shift left approach with ATDD principles and automation first. • Improved the agile ways of working throughout the engineering team. • Helped to massively reduce regression testing cycles. • Implemented Gated processes for delivery, whilst speeding up delivery times within the cycle. • Brought in static code analysis with security at the forefront. • Introduced and conducted comprehensive performance and load testing activities to prove readiness for peak traffic. Working with teams to resolve any issues blocking performance capabilities. • Helped to build out our engineering teams as required, ensuring our common goals are achieved. • Help to run the Architecture and QA guilds, ensuring we have focus on key problems to be solved. • Line management of several engineers in multiple disciplines. • Partner management with our outsourced partners. • Regular communication between other business functions and engineering.

Responsible for the Quality Assurance function at Gelato. Helping to instill processes and tools that will build quality into the product at the very beginning. All of this whilst also speeding up the delivery of software to ensure we are the fastest to market in our sector. I also get to manage a fantastic geo-located team on many different projects, showcasing the success that can be had from working with remote outsourced engineering teams. I also get to code again! :D

The opportunity at ClearBank is to rebuild a QA team and function that had been failing within the development life cycle. This included the capability to reduce this time even further. • Implemented Gated processes for software delivery, whilst speeding up delivery times within the cycle. Meaning better confidence for every release. • Embedded TDD within all the scrum teams (14 in total) • Improved quality exponentially. First release saw 1119 bugs in regression and UAT, latest big release saw under 100. • Key in implementing release trains, delivering small and risk averse releases. Now we are seeing under 10 bugs in regression and UAT combined • Proven production capabilities to handle load before customers come on board. Allows a streamlined and confident customer onboarding process • Built the team from 6 to 20 members working to a common goal. I started out at Currencycloud as a Senior QA engineer. I took the role as I saw an exciting opportunity to help re-shape the QA function within the company. There were a lot of bad practices in play that needed solutions suggested and implemented. Part of this was to work towards revitalising our automation suites which were built with Cucumber.
