As part of my university degree, I was given the opportunity to go on a 7 month work placement with BMS. In this role I was given an array of tasks in varying areas. Building and developing a SharePoint tool capable of tracking Improvement Ideas within External Manufacturing was the first major task I completed in my time at BMS. This tool now acts as a central repository to monitor the progress of improvement ideas within the organization. One of my main roles at BMS was supporting the Data Manager. This involved capturing and recording the monthly performance metrics for the company using tools such as SAP, Trackwise and Excel. I also developed user user manuals on how to capture these metrics, for the purpose of teaching other employees. I worked closely Director of Project Management to gather requirements and data for a new PMO SharePoint site that I was to develop. With the assistance of the IT Analyst/SharePoint Manager, I designed and implemented a new SharePoint site for the PMO department that provides users with a more intuitive experience when accessing PMO content. As part of the internship I worked closely with the Director of Business Development who gave me the chance to become a Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. Achieving this certification required that I complete two Improvement Projects. The first was the redevelopment of the OpEx SharePoint page, and the second was a SharePoint tool for the Leadership Team that would allow them to track and escalate issues accordingly. Show less
