As the partner-in-charge of the Digital Solutions arm of Paloe, I oversee the tech and innovation aspects of the business, with a particular emphasis on developing our in-house tech capabilities. Being a certified Scrum Master, I advocated for the Scrum process to be implemented in the tech and business teams, leading our lean tech team to develop a suite of internal tools to digitalise and automate various aspects of the finance process of our business. We recently launched Overture, our startup investor management platform, to help startups in their fundraising process. I take on digital transformation projects for SMEs to remake their business for future growth by guiding them to formulate a digital business strategy and working with them to implement the strategy. In 2020, with the rapid digitalisation of businesses brought about by the pandemic, I took the opportunity to build up the Data Analytics business line, which helps our clients to manage their data and design dashboards that would assist them to make sense of the data. I also focused on the growth and development of the tech team, putting in place systems and processes that maximise team happiness and productivity, while at the same time allowing the freedom to work remotely. As most of our team were switching into tech and coding for the first time, I also trained and mentored them through the transition process. As a full stack web developer that helped more than 20 startups launch their web platforms, I worked on various projects in different business fields, ranging from retail to B2B. I was involved in the planning and development of a major revamp of all four verticals (Jobs, Property, Cars & Classifieds) that was successfully completed within a year. The revamp also involved developing APIs for mobile apps to interface with our web services and managing external vendors for the development and launch of the iPhone, iPad and Android apps across all verticals, a total of 12 apps. I spearheaded the effort to conceptualise and develop hybrid mobile apps for iPhone and Android for various clients in the property and cars sector. At the time, hybrid mobile apps was a new concept and I took on the role of being the subject-matter expert in this area. jQuery Mobile was only in its alpha release and we had to spend many hours working on workarounds to bugs that were still present in the framework. I also worked closely with the marketing and design teams to develop various websites and landing pages for marketing campaigns across all the verticals.
