      To gain the rank of corporal I achieved exceptional marks in several music exams, undertook leadership and management tasks and successfully completed the Corporal Leadership Development Course (CLDC).During the CLDC, I prepared and delivered a PowerPoint presentation to 20 people, developed my knowledge and skills of leadership and management and demonstrated my physical stamina and mental resilience on numerous occasions, including during a 30 mile ‘yomp’ across Dartmoor.As only 1 of 3 females, on a course of 60 Royal Marines, and the only female to complete all elements of the course, I was commended on my outstanding mindset and resilience in the face of adversity and placed in the top third.       As a Musician in the Royal Marines Band Service, I am among the world’s finest and most versatile military musicians. As a pianist, clarinettist and vocalist I have proven versatility by performing as a soloist, as well as within numerous smaller ensembles.As the public face of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines I contribute to the nation’s defence diplomacy strategy by performing at military, ceremonial and state occasions. I have also performed for major sporting fixtures and in iconic and prestigious concert venues. I have been employed all over the world, including in America, Canada, Dubai, Belgium and Helsinki, and have played for Royalty and Heads of State.During my time in the RM, I have:• Led the piano section in 3 RM bands, including during a deployment with HMS Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier.• Featured in the Royal Albert Hall as a pianist and vocalist.• Performed solo piano on HMS Victory, HMS Queen Elizabeth, HM Yacht Britannia and in the British Embassies of Dubai and Helsinki.• Established the MOD Caledonia Swimming club. I provided free swimming tuition and training to serving armed forces personnel and their families. I managed multiple training sessions a week and entered a winning team into the RN Northern Region gala.• Held the position of musical director of Rosyth Military Wives Choir which involved directing, accompanying and rehearsing the choir weekly, as well as organising public performances and social events.• Managed the Portsmouth and Scotland Royal Marines Band Shops. This additional responsibility and customer facing role involved organising a team of 7-14 people, coordinating merchandise sales for the Blue Band magazine and RNRMC charity and interacting with the public on a regular basis.• Organised several RM Band social events by managing a team of 8-10 people and delegating tasks, as well as liaising with venues, securing funding and donations from private organisations and charities, and overseeing the events.
