I was doing the day to day operational purchasing for the vessels that were allocated to me, and planned and coordinated deliveries to the vessels, both stores and urgent shipments and also supplies from local chandlers, making sure we got the right quality, at the price and at the right time. Also, I was involved in arranging supplies to newbuildings and vessels going to dry dock. Furthermore, I participated in a project to optimize the way we did the buying for some of the major categories and a project to reduce the agency cost in connection with dry dockings. Show less

    • Operational Performance / Project Management
      • Sep 2014 - Oct 2016

As hull and propeller performance manager in operational performance, I monitored the performance of TORMs vessels using performance input from the vessels, following the vessels trading pattern and historical data. If a vessels performance was poor, I arranged hull cleaning and/or propeller polish at the first port where quality diving companies were available and where it would make sense economically. Stakeholders were informed about the findings from diving jobs, and performance programs have been updated with changes in fuel consumption at least on a monthly basis. The performance departments work was a great success leading to substantial fuel savings for TORM. Furthermore, I managed various compliance and fuel saving projects, where I have been part in finding the right technical solutions, negotiating prices and making sure the projects are carried out in accordance with the project description, budgets are kept and stakeholders informed during the project. As operator I have been the connecting link between the charterers, owners and captains for the voyages I have handled, making sure that the voyage ran as smoothly as possible at the lowest cost. I have been operating clean, dirty and vegoil voyages and intermediate, handysize and MR vessels. Ordering the right quantity of bunkers at the right ports, has been a major focus for the result of the voyage. Issuance of freight and claims related to the voyages, has been another task, with special focus on claims negotiation in order to have the claims closed in accordance with the voyage charter party. Operations has been a complex job, where many small aspects in the voyage contracts have to be kept in mind for the optimal voyage result and earning. It has been a job that I have enjoyed immensely, not at least because of the many contacts I have to the various stakeholders involved with the job. Show less
