I've known Abbey throughout my college and professional career. She is truly amazing and talented at software engineering. During our time at UMKC, I can always rely on her for any software engineering help. At times, I would always see her mentoring the new computer science majors and it's very inspirational. Abbey is always willing to step out of her comfort zone to learn and try new things. I'm truly blessed to have met and worked with someone like Abbey.

I have known Abbey Trotta for about two years. She was a student of mine in my Advanced Java Programming class and my Software Engineering class. Overall Abbey has been an exceptional student. What impresses me most about her is her ability to excel in a broad range of areas. She has high technical skills as well as excellent social and organizational skills. In the Java class she asked insightful questions (usually because I had neglected to mention some detail) and her code was of the highest quality. In the Software Engineering class, students work in teams and pick their own roles. Considering how well she did in the Advanced Java Programming class, I fully expected her to choose a technical role, yet she and her team decided to make her the project manager. Her team was one of the best run teams I have seen in several years. She also demonstrated leadership qualities that had an impact beyond her team. On the day we were to meet with the client for the class project (four lawyers) I realized I hadn’t assigned anyone to run the meeting. Abbey graciously volunteered and 2 hours later she was running the meeting as if she has been planning it for days.
