Jayanta Chatterjee
I have known Dr. Piyesh Chauhan since 2008. I was his Doctoral thesis supervisor in the Department of Electrical Engineering Indian Institute of Technology Delhi New Delhi India. He worked on his Doctoral thesis for 4 years, between July 2008 and August 2012, in the research area of Power Electronics. His research topic was related to the development of techniques for improved voltage and frequency regulation of isolated brushless (induction) generation under large rotor speed and/or balance/unbalanced 3-phase active/reactive load perturbed conditions. He did detailed simulation and experimental studies on the operation and performance of the aforesaid integrated generating system. The technique, we developed, can be applied in renewable energy systems such as wind or small hydro generating system. The technique can also be used to provide base configuration for a Microgrid. We have jointly published number of research papers and also have an Indian patent from from the above research work. We have published a number of Conference papers and also have published two IEEE Transaction papers. We are currently processing on one more Indian patent. Which is in its final stage of completion. We are also working on few more Journal papers. Dr. Piyesh Chauhan is very good in Matlab/simulink programming and has excellent experimental skills. I wish him a very bright future carrier prospect. With best wishes. J K Chatterjee
