Ball Up Street Ball

-
Production Designer / Webstore Administrator / Live Event Production Assistant
-
Apr 2013 - Jul 2018
Ball Up Street Ball is a global basketball entertainment brand. Fueled by the undying love for the game of basketball, Ball Up has re-invented the game of street ball, taking both culture & athleticism and uniting them on the hard court to sold-out arenas around the world. With its very own team of the professional contract street ballers, Ball Up tours the globe, taking on the greatest athletes, in search of the next street baller qualified to join the team. As the in house production designer for Ball Up Street Ball, I produced promotional graphics for both print and digital media. Everything from event flyers, tickets, try-out forms to vinyl banners, court decals, step and repeats to social media graphics for Facebook & Instagram posts. I also manage the Ball Up Street Ball web store, Shopballup.com. Running the online store means that I am in charge of photographing all product images, updating product information, creating/maintaining sales promotions and designing web store specific media. Along with running the digital/visual side of the web store, I am also in charge of the stores logistical side: managing inventory, fulfilling and shipping orders and making sure every customers experience is a pleasant one. Another engaging aspect to my portfolio of work duties is live event producing. Ball Up Street Ball hosts televised basketball games in sports arenas all over the world and I have had the rewarding experience of assisting in the production of these live events. The coordination and execution of live events requires all hands(and capabilities) on deck and I've thrived on assisting our productions through any way needed. I've assisted on-set producers in the development of reality competition story lines, all-purpose PA duties, in-game promotions and on site merchandise sales, along with the over all fortification of personal team building and professional determination to succeed above expectations. The retail fashion giant, Nordstrom shaped my understanding of consumer service, engagement and satisfaction. Working in the Womens Shoes department, I quickly developed a distinguished skill set for assisting customers in all areas of retail: personal shopping, customer outreach, product education and providing exceptional customer service throughout. Representing Nordstrom as a sales associate, I learned the immense value of developing personal relationships. In trying to best serve the needs of each customer, I formed connections with them and uniquely developed a rapport, which helped me deliver exactly what the customer needed; communication is key. I listened to the customer, placed myself in their shoes and was happy to guide them toward business resolution. My time with Nordstrom awarded me beneficial skills in the following business situations to name a few: live consumer marketing, multi-tasked interpersonal communication, operating in high pressure business environments, engaging consumer traffic to drum up sales, consumer activation setup. Production Assistant Intern
-
Apr 2012 - Mar 2013
I'm one of the proud interns for the feature length documentary, "Cesars Last Fast". http://cesarslastfast.com/ About the film: In the summer of 1988 Cesar Chavez, then 61 years old, embarked on a water-only fast - a personal act of penance for not having done enough to stop growers from spraying toxic pesticides on farm workers. For more than a month no one, including Cesar, knew when he would eat again. Structured around dramatic, neverbeforeseen footage of Chavez's "Fast for Life," this film is the inspiring but overlooked 40-year story of how Chavez organized America's poorest, least educated workers, built a movement that successfully challenged our nation's powerful agribusiness, and launched the modern day Latino civil rights movement in the U.S. Motivated by Catholic social teaching, Chavez risked his life in pursuit economic justice for America's most vulnerable workforce. Volunteer Video Editor

May 2007 - Dec 2007
Hospice Care of the West specialized in caring for terminally ill individuals, making their remaining moments as comfortable as possible. With this truly delicate mission at the basis of their services, I was honored to volunteer my digital media skillsets. For any patients feeling so inclined, Hospice Care of the West offered memorial videos. Video interviews that gave patients the opportunity to express themselves in any way they chose. With the utmost professionalism, I compiled video interview footage & digitized physical photos, as well as conducted, filmed and edited my own patient interviews. I also produced DVD exports of each memorial video for family members to cherish. I am very proud to have been given the opportunity to contribute my audio/visual talents to such a rewarding cause. This opportunity truly showed me the beautiful fragility of life and how the audio/visual medium can be used to navigate and document the human condition. Thankfully to this volunteer program, I will always remember that. Show less
