  I work in a BIW body shop that currently produce cars for Jaguar Land Rover in automatic. The area of the job I am involved mainly with is joining technologies. These include Self Piercing Rivets and manual/automatic adhesive application. I work right from commissioning the riveting/adhesive systems all the way up until the line is handed over to the customer. I started off my career in the automotive industry in specifically SPR analysis, which involves cutting and scoping rivets to check that they are achieving the required engineering specification or not, this is carried out under a microscope, upto now where I provide build support line side including all sub assemblies/underbody/framing/roofing, and also improvements of SPR joints and also adhesive runs as and when required.
